The Undertaker immortalized a wonderful era in WWE history. In the extraordinary career of over 30 years, he owned the arena with his uncanny in-ring skills and mystic persona that resembles mythological characters. However, ‘The Deadman’ is now resting with peace, focusing on his life beyond the sport.
Recently, Taker sat down with WWE Network as part of his Hall of Fame induction next month. He shared his views on the main event of WrestleMania 38 between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Here, in another WWE special clip, the Undertaker reflects on his favorite WrestleMania moment.
The Undertaker on ‘The End Of An Era’ moment at WrestleMania 28
The iconic Hell In A Cell match between Triple H and Undertaker truly lived up to the hype. Taker managed to extend his streak against Triple H in a perfect 20-0 victory, after a phenomenal brawl inside the rugged metal cage. Moreover, both of the legends suffered enough in that match, where fans witnessed some lurid smashes with sledgehammer and steel chairs.
During a recent interview with WWE, Taker revealed about this special match.”Wow, my (favorite) WrestleMania moment. The two matches with Shawn and then the two with Triple H. It’s very seldom, it’s very unusual to be able to tell a four-year story. And if you follow that the way you should, that is what it is. One match led to the other match, which led to another match, which led to the fourth match.”
However, The Phenom opened up about this epochal match and how he, Triple H and Shawn Michaels broke character to hug and share the special moment. ‘The Showstopper’ interfered Taker during the match as his best friend HHH was down. Well, he ended up a victim of the Deadman’ s wrath, but after the match, the three went emotional.
Further, ”The Phenom’ continued, “That moment with the three of us standing on the stage together, that was not planned. It was just something organic that happened. Three guys that came up through particular era just kind of enjoying what we just did. And so proud of those matches, but that moment was really cool for me to share with those two guys.”
As Taker said, the match was a milestone in the famous feud between Triple H and the Undertaker, which existed from the Attitude Era. The pair have worked together through various WWE chapters that moulded both of their careers.
The WrestleMania 28 was termed as the ‘End of an Era’ as the storyline needed to have some closure on this awe-inspiring rivalry. Moreover, this match won the 2012 Slammy Award and ‘Match of The Year’ on Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
