So without further ado, here are five recent rumors you need to know about Roman Reigns:

#5 Drew McIntyre will be Roman Reigns’ next opponent after Brock Lesnar

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns will feud with Drew McIntyre once he’s done with Brock Lesnar. The Scottish Superstar was drafted to SmackDown despite being pitted against Big E for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel.

Meltzer said McIntyre was sent to the Blue Brand since Reigns was running out of fresh opponents. Their program is set to begin in December.

”McIntyre was moved over since Roman Reigns desperately needs a new opponent and, on paper right now, there’s essentially nobody else for him. Plus, McIntyre goes over with multiple losses at the end of his RAW run and presumably another to Big E, and then will become Reigns’ big contender probably around December,” said Dave Meltzer.

Reigns and McIntyre last had a high-profile clash in a Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series 2020. The match was well received and elevated both stars.

McIntyre spent a few months away from the main event scene after dropping the title to Bobby Lashley, but fans will get behind him as a challenger for the Universal title.

#4 Potential Spoiler: No plans for Roman Reigns to lose the Universal Championship this year

According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Roman Reigns isn’t expected to drop the Universal Championship this year.

A source with links to WWE creative suggested that Reigns is going to hold the title for a long time. This could indicate that The Tribal Chief will defeat Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel, possibly with a helping hand from Paul Heyman.

Reigns’ heel run alongside The Bloodline has been a huge success, establishing him as one of the biggest stars in pro-wrestling. There’s no reason to dethrone him anytime soon. There have been murmurs for over a year about The Tribal Chief facing The Rock at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns vs The Rock would be one of the biggest matches in WWE history, and The Tribal Chief needs to gather as much momentum as possible before the biggest show of the year.

#3 Update on plans for the Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar feud

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE intends to extend the Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar feud beyond Crown Jewel. The two Titans are expected to feud until December and will have more than one match against each other.

“Right now the plan is to get a lot more time out of Lesnar vs. Reigns than just the Saudi Arabia show, and from the rosters, they need to do that. McIntyre is there, but they also have to elevate other people.” stated Meltzer.

#2 Jim Cornette recommends Jacob Fatu to WWE

Jacob Fatu, a member of the legendary Anoa’i family that includes Roman Reigns and the Usos, recently impressed Jim Cornette during an MLW match against Alexander Hammerstone.

Cornette said that Fatu would instantly become a major star in a company like WWE or AEW.

If you put Jacob Fatu on WWE programming, or AEW programming, or any programming with any people in any production value whatsoever, and you smash him over for six weeks or so, the people would be ready to buy anything he does,” said Cornette.

Fatu could eventually end up at WWE since he has several family members who work for the promotion.

#1 Roman Reigns is rivaling John Cena’s merchandise sales

Paul Davis of WrestlingNewsCo learned that Roman Reigns’ merchandise sales were getting to “John Cena levels.”

Reigns is reportedly selling more merchandise than any other heel in WWE history. Management is very pleased with the decision to turn The Tribal Chief heel.

There was a clamor among the audience for Reigns to turn heel during his lackluster babyface run. Now that he’s playing a much more interesting character, the fans are truly behind the Universal Champion.
