WWE Live was in Toronto, Ontario, Canada over the weekend and in Hall of Famer Trish Stratus‘ hometown. She was already announced to be a host of both nights. Stratus helped open both shows along with Kevin Owens for the ‘KO Show.’
On both nights, Becky Lynch successfully defended the Raw Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley. On Sunday, after the match, Stratus emerged and the two had a verbal exchange before she slapped the Raw Women’s Champion across the face. Ripley delivered Riptide on Lynch afterward.
Prior to hosting the live events over the weekend, Stratus spoke in an interview with ET Canada about being open to having a match with Sasha Banks. In a separate interview with The B-Team, she mentioned Lynch as well.
“Well, I mean after the disrespect that Becky Lynch showed to my friend, WWE Hall Of Famer Lita, probably her,” Stratus said. “Only because the opportunity could seem like a possibility. Two, you know, if she happens to be at this live event [in Toronto] and she runs her mouth, you know, I am not doing yoga with her.”
Lynch also stated in a social media post that prior to her making it into Canada she was stopped at the border. She says that immigration pulls her to the side and after a two-hour wait in line, she gets to the front and is told by an officer that Trish Stratus sends her regards.
Lynch will be at Raw tonight as it is the last show for the red brand heading into WrestleMania this weekend. She is set to defend her title against Bianca Belair on Saturday, April 2.
