WWE icon Brock Lesnar is one of the WWE’s top talents. In 2004, he left WWE to pursue a career in the NFL. However, he suffered serious injuries, ultimately ending his chances of playing in the NFL. In addition, after McMahon declined to sign him back, Brock Lesnar joined the New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The Beast Incarnation has been the NJPW’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship. He also faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura at Toukon Shidou Chapter 1. Now, recently a rare photo of him and Shinsuke Nakamura has emerged on Twitter.
The photo was captured just minutes before Lesnar fought Nakamura and defended his championship at Toukon Shidou Chapter 1. Additionally, on Oral Sessions Renee Paquette, Nakamura discussed his first encounter with Lesnar.
Taking about his experience, Nakamura stated, “I was young. He was young? I don’t know (chuckles). Moreover, Renee questioned Nakamura about him and the NJPW locker room’s reactions to Brock Lesnar not defending or returning with the IWGP Championship. On which he didn’t really say anything, but “unprofessional”.
In addition, Nakamura also stated that if given the opportunity, he would like to battle against The Beast Incarnation in WWE.
Brock Lesnar approached Kurt Angle for NJPW
Brock Lesnar joined NJPW in 2005 after leaving WWE. Lesnar’s stint with NJPW was brief, lasting only two years. However, The Beast Incarnation was a prominent wrestler at NJPW at the time. During his tenure, he dominated the NJPW.
In addition, Lesnar once asked Kurt Angle about competing for the World Title in NJPW. Angle has spoken about his NJPW match where he overcame him and went on to become the world champion.
Angle stated, “Brock did approach me about working with him in Japan, and I ended up going over for NJPW, and I had a match with Brock. We had a phenomenal match over there and I won the World Title from him; the New Japan Pro Wrestling Title.”
Lesnar added, “You know, Brock, after the match, said hey when we do the press conference because they always have huge press conferences before and after the matches. And he said when you have the press conference and we’re sitting up there in front of the press, tell them you want a rematch with me.”
However, the rematch between the two did not take place. Do you want to see Lesnar and Nakamura compete in WWE soon? Let us know.
