Fanene was released last year, along with 18 superstars such as Keith Lee, Killer Kross and Eva Marie. According to her Instagram post, she took a break from work to focus on her mental health. WWE had planned her comeback, but she chose to extend the break. However, later, she was let go.

Her tweets have inflamed controversial discussions all over the internet among WWE fans. Formerly, Lina Fanene had said that she declined a return offer to Royal Rumble in January as she was let go in November. Also, there were reports she was released because she refused to get vaccinated.
