WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross spoke about the relationship between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker. On the latest episode of the Grilling JR podcast, the commentator stated that the two Texas legends never had the correct chemistry for the WWE Universe.

The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin competed in several matches together. Stone Cold Steve Austin ruled the WWE Attitude Era with his hardcore beer lover gimmick. While ‘The Phenom’ was one of the most dominating superstars of the era.

Understandably, the WWE Universe had a hard time choosing their favorite, as both the characters personified glamour.

WWE Attitude Era was a chaotic period, as many professional wrestlers paved their way to reach the pinnacle.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Phenom helped Jim Ross behind the scenes!

When Jim Ross was a full-timer with WWE, he worked as the head of the talent relations. So naturally, Ross had a good bond with most wrestlers in the WWE locker room.

Unfortunately, he has seen Steve Austin and The Undertaker not getting along inside the ring.

Jim Ross said, “I’ve said this before, and this is not a knock on either guys. I love both those guys, Austin and Taker, because they served the locker room well when I was in charge of talent relations. They were happy to help me with the talent if I needed it. They were supportive, they were very reliable, which was a key thing for me.”

“I just thought the world of both those guys, but they didn’t have great chemistry together. They had great respect for each other and still do to this very day. If Austin’s not at Undertaker’s Hall of Fame induction, I’ll be shocked,” Jim Ross added.

The former WWE commentator continued to point out the similarities between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker. Jim Ross spelled out that Steve Austin and Mark Calaway, aka The Phenom, grew up in Texas, both watched Paul Bosch wrestled out of Houston in their early days.

The Rattlesnake and The Undertaker didn’t sell well together?

The on-screen rivalry between Stone Cold and The Deadman got us an exciting card to watch. However, former WWE commentator Jim Ross doesn’t feel the same way.

“Some guys just don’t have great chemistry, and it’s not an indictment on whose fault was that. It’s just a fact, and it’s not a negative for either guy. I wouldn’t trade either guy for any two other stars that I’ve ever managed or worked with, in my role as head of talent relations. If you start a roster and you didn’t pick those two guys, you’re an idiot,” Jim Ross mentioned.

Steve Austin has accepted the challenge of Kevin Owens to meet him face to face. 19 years after his last WWE match, The Texas Rattlesnake will finally step back onto The Grandest Stage of Them All. In addition, The Undertaker will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

The two Texas state WWE legends will appear at The Stupendous WrestleMania weekend this year. Do you agree with Ross’ comments about Austin and Taker? Let us know in the comments.
